  • The program consists of at least 30 hours of instructions and includes components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety, handicapped parking, fuel efficient driving practices, motorcycle awareness and organ and tissue donation awareness as required by law.
  • You must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to take the online drivers education course. All individuals who elect to take the classroom component of the driver's education course online must take the online course through a DMV licensed driver training school. Home-schooled students are exempt from this requirement.
  • In order to benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer.
  • Once you have filled out the registration form and paid for the course you will receive a confirmation email and your receipt email. You will also receive another email within 24 hours with your username and password to start the course.
  • Option A: 30hrs Online Drivers Education ($149).
  • Option B: 30hrs Online Drivers Education + 90min Parent/Teen Course ($189).

Test Procedures

On the day of testing, you must bring the following to the test site:

  • Photo identification (DMV issued identification card, school issued identification card, valid passport or military identification)
  • Proof of completion of the online drivers education course
  • A completed "Parent Consent for Online Driver Education Examination" (DTS 62), if you are under age 18
  • Students MUST attend the 90 minute parent teen course to receive the certificate of completion for the Online Drivers Education course. This applies to students that are under age 18 in Planning District 8 (counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park)
  • In order to take the Final Test, students MUST first complete the 90-minute parent/teen course. If the student has already completed the 90min course, then proof of completion MUST be provided.
  • The online driver training site will provide a computer for testing.

 

Test Rules

  • On the day of the test YOU CANNOT BRING ANY NOTES OR USE YOUR CELL PHONE TO HELP. NO CHEATING!!
  • You may take the final test only 3 times.
  • If you fail the test 3 times you will have to restart the course from the beginning and pay the original price again.

 

Final Test Locations & Hours

**Once you complete the course and are prompted for the final test, call our office to schedule a time to come in for the final test. Be sure to call us 24hrs prior to confirm a time.**

***Reminder: You MUST complete the 90min PT course before you can take the online final test.***
